Unveiling his last set of annual results before stepping down as chief executive, Mr Goodyear said he was confident commodity prices would remain strong for some time. He said that in recent days BHP had conducted a survey of its major customers around the world to see if their demand for raw materials would be dented by the fallout from the US sub-prime mortgage crisis.
